Frank I. Williams, 73, died at his home at Franco Haven near Statesboro, Saturday, Saturday night, March 15.

Mr. Williams was one of Statesboro and Bulloch County's leading citizens. The son of the late J.W. and Rebecca Olliff Williams, he was in the merchantile business in Statesboro with his father until be became clerk of Bulloch Superior Court in 1933. He served in this office until 1941. He retired from political service in 1957. For more than thirty years he served as a deacon in the Statesboro Primitive Baptist Church. He was active in all affairs designed for the progress of the community in which he lived.

He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Cora Everett Williams; one son, State Senator F. Everett Williams; one grandson, Frank E. Williams, Jr., both of Statesboro; two brothers, Dr. L.W. Williams of Savannah and George S. Williams of Douglas; one sister, Mrs. J.W. Holland of Macon.

Funeral services were held at the Statesboro Primitive Baptist Church Monday at 3:30 p.m. with the Elder T. Roe Scott, pastor, in charge. Burial was in the East Side Cemetery.

Pallbearers were W. Dean Anderson, H.D. Anderson, C. Olin Smith, J. Frank Olliff, John H. Olliff and Fred H. Smith.

Honorary pallbearers were members of the board of Deacons of the Statesboro Primitive Baptist Church, D.P. Waters, C.P. Claxton, Harry Cone, Allen R. Lanier, Jimps Jones, Robert Cox, Jack Brannen, and Alvin McLendon, also A.C. Bradley, Clyde Mitchell, Hobson Donaldson, Norton Beasley, Dewey Cannon, Dr. R.J.H. DeLoach, C.P. Olliff, Sr., B.H. Ramsey, Sr., W.G. Neville, J.G. Moore, J. Rufus Anderson, Dalton Kennedy and Bob West.

Funeral arrangements were in charge of Smith-Tillman Mortuary.
