A veteran of the Revolutionary War, Joel Condit fought for American independence as a young man in his 20's. His younger brother Samuel also served. The sons of Daniel and Ruth (nee Harrison) Condit, the patriotic siblings lived to see the young American nation defeat Great Britain a second time in the War of 1812. Joel survived Samuel by more than a decade, dying in his 80th year in 1833.
