Adlays Gutting, lately employed in the Blaine, died here Monday night of purpura heamotthagiea effecting the throat and lungs. The deceased came from Butte, Mont., about three weeks since. He was a member of Ivanhoe lodge No. 6 K. of P. of Butte and the B of L. F. No. 264 of the same place. The funeral which occurred Tuesday afternoon was conducted by the Centurion lodge No. 100 K. of P. of Ridgway, the beautiful and impressive ritual of the order being used at the grave. William Hart of the Arlington hotel, in South Bute, received word last night of the death of Al Gutting at Ridgeway, Colo. Gutting was a member of the Knights of Pythias. He formerly resided in this city. [Published in "The Bute Miner," Bute, Montana, Tuesday, June 3rd, 1902, MDP, Morning edition, Page 8.]

Some burial records show last name as "Isutting" which is incorrect. Correct last name per death certificate and family records is "Gutting".

He came into town (Ridgeway, Colorado) from the Blaine Mine [located in the Blaine Basin of Mount Sneffels (+38.014437 -107.785339)]very ill and died at the Hotel Montrose after 2-3 days.
