Oct 1, 1948 – Mrs Neal of Brockwell Dies at Age of 77

Mrs Etta Neal, wife of Burgess Neal, died Friday morning, September 24, at the home of her eldest son, Amos Neal, near Brockwell. She was 77 years of age and practically all of her life was spent in the vicinity of Brockwell. She united with the Missionary Baptist Church early in life and was a faithful member until death. Besides her aged husband, she is survived by four daughters, Mrs Nettie Yancey of Oxford, Mrs Kittie Robins of Brockwell, Mrs Maggie Jones and Mrs Edna Harris of Calico Rock; four sons, Amos and Dennie Neal of Brockwell, Oliver and Willie Neal of Calico Rock; 24 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren; four sisters and two brothers. Funeral services, conducted by Rev. Taylor of Melbourne, were held at Larkin Saturday, and Burial was in the Larkin Cemetery under direction of the Roller Funeral Service.
