—The Berberet Story gives birthdate as February 1844.

Miss Joanah Berberet.
After an illness of six months without complaint, miss Joanah Berberet died in Edina, Monday, November 30, at nine o'clock. for the past six months Miss Berberet had been a sufferer and was cared for at the home of her sister, Mrs. J. L. McBride, where she died. Funeral services were held at St. Joseph's Wednesday morning, conducted by Rev. R. J. Healy, and interment made in the Catholic cemetery.
Miss Berberet was born in Wheeling, W. Va., February 4, 1844, being nearly 71 years of age at the time of her death. In 1865 she came with her parents to Missouri, locating on a farm about 6 1-2 miles east of Edina. About the year 1878 she moved to Edina and had since been one of the highly respected ladies of the city. She was the second eldest child of the family and the surviving brothers and sisters are deeply grateful for the care and attention she gave them in their early years.
She was never married, but leaves to mourn her death five brothers and two sisters. The brothers are M. J., of Junction City, Kan.; N. J., of Chicago, Ill.; E. B., of Edina; Geo. W., of Long Beach, Cal., and f. J., of Kansas City. The sisters are Mrs. J. L McBride, of Edina, and Mrs. John Miller, of Kansas City.
The many and beautiful floral offerings spoke in eloquent terms of the esteem in which she was held by her associates in life. The entire community extends sincere sympathy to the bereaved ones.
