Addie Wallace Hunt's Obit:

In late summer of 1879 there was born to Matt and Malinda Wallace of Conway County, Arkansas their first daughter. It was a joyous occasion for this plain, hardworking farming couple who were already the parents of a small boy. Within the next 21 years Matt and Malinda were blessed with eleven additional children making a total of 13.

Little Addie, being the oldest daughter, was automatically thrown into the role of "mother" long before she was an adult because it was she who looked after the little ones as her own dear mother toiled from sunup to sundown on the land.

Perhaps this experience s a "mother" to her brothers, sisters, nieces, and nephews was the background for the excellence she demonstrated the next nine decades in being "Mama" to her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren and "Ain't" (Aunt) ot many, many nieces and nephews.

Mama was LOVE, Love, loving care, attention, and genuine concern were the key elements in Mama's life. She listened when we needed an ear; cried with us when we were troubled; laughed with us when we were happy; worked for us without complaint, and fussed at us when necessary. Although not a demonstrative person, she loved us dearly and we knew it..AND we loved her dearly and SHE knew it. She was THERE when we needed her. She is no longer with us in body. However, she will always be with us because we loved Mama, we loved this quiet hardworking religious, independent woman sincerely and we don't, today, realize just how much we'll miss her. On Sunday November 10th at 3:15 p.m., Mama, age 95, after a very brief illness, slept quietly and gently away. Gentle in life, she was gentle in death.

Mama is survived by two children, Mrs. Artee Brown of Chicago, Illinois, and Mrs. Clemmie Montgomery of Los Angeles, California. Also, she leaves 8 grandchildren, 21 great grandchildren, 36 great-great grandchildren, and one brother, Mr. Amziah Wallace of Tulsa, Oklahoma. Additionally, surviving her are many nieces nephews, other family members, and friends.
