Funeral services for Lloyd Glen Stakes Sr., 76, will be at 10a.m.Wednesday, June 29, in Johnson Funeral Home. The Revs. Charles Grigsby, Jack Tanner, Pershing Pitre and Emmit Wren will officiate. Graveside services will follow at 1 p.m. in Maxie Cemetery in Maxie.
Mr. Stakes died at 12:15 a.m. Monday, June 27, 1994, in a local hospital. A native of Crowley, he retired as a millwright from Olin Corp.,working from Local 1476 , and was former owner of the Moss Bluff Drive-Inn. A charter member and former deacon of Bethel Baptist Church, he was amember of First Baptist Church of Moss Bluff.
Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Annie Richard Stakes; three sons,Lloyd Glen Stakes Jr. of Ragley and Henry David and John Beacher Stakes;two daughters, Mrs. Les (Betty) Downey and Mrs. T.R. (Dianne)Busby, all of Moss Bluff; six grandchildren, three stepgrandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. Memorials may be made to the First Baptist Church of Moss Bluff building fund, the family said
