Born Aug. 5 1905, he was the son of Rhine and Minnie ( Straatman) Lemke. He was a graduate of the University of Iowa and was married Oct. 22, 1936, to Myrtle Geilser. He had served as accountant at the Klemme Co-op Grain Company from 1950 until Sept. 1967.
Surviving are his widow, a daughter, Mrs. Clarence (Joan) Hrubes, Britt; a son Earl W. Lemke, at Iowa Staste University at Ames; five grandchildren, two sisters, Mrs J. W. (Irene) Yanaski, Sioux City; Mrs. Carl (Meta) Bohn, Garner; a brother Reuben J. Lemke, Long Beach, Calif. He will be laid to rest in Ell Township Cemetery, Klemme, Iowa.
