Librado Garza went to be with our Heavenly Father on March 25, 2011 at the age of 68. He was born in Brownsville, TX to Librado Garza, Jr. and Petra Herrera on September 4, 1942. Librado served his country in the United States Marine Corp and also fought in Vietnam. He was employed at CCAD for many years until his health declined forcing him to retire. He was a loving father, grandfather, great-grandfather and brother who will be dearly missed.

He is preceded in death by his parents and brothers: Guadalupe Lopez and Eddie Almeida.

He leaves behind to cherish his memories, his loving wife of 41 years, Luz P. Garza; his children: Miguel P. Hernandez, Guillermo P. (Frances) Hernandez, Alejos P. (Olivia) Hernandez, Rodolfo P. Hernandez, Felipe P. (Mary Jane) Hernandez, Rogelio P. Hernandez, Yomeda H. (Noe) Villarreal, Norma H. (Amy) Wilburn and Santiago P. Hernandez; Librado is also survived by his sisters: Janie Salazar, Yolanda Lopez, Lucia Hernandez, Rosie Simmons and Mary Pierce among numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great grandchildren and other loving family members and friends.

The family will be receiving friends on Sunday, March 27, 2011 from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m., at Memory Gardens Funeral Home with a Holy Rosary to be recited that same evening at 7:00 p.m..

Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Monday, March 28, 2011 at 10:00 a.m., at Our Lady of Pilar Catholic Church, 1101 Bloomington, with interment to follow at Memory Gardens Cemetery.
