LaVerne was the daughter of Victor and Mary Hach Wessling. She graduated from Warren Central High School. Laverne owned two dress shops and was a beautician. She belonged to the Murat R.V. Club, The St. John United Church of Christ and the Mary Martha Circle. Also belonging to for over 60 years The Altrustic 15 and the Riley Cheer Guild. LaVerne was preceded in death by her son, Ronald D. Kottlowski, Sr.; husband, Charles F. Kottlowski; and parents, Victor and Mary Hach Wessling. She is survived by her brother, Ralph Wessling; daughter-in-law, Shirley Kottlowski; grandson, Ron (Rhonda) Kottlowski Jr.; granddaughter, Mindy Benge; great-grandsons, Jeremy Kottlowski and Brody Benge; and great-granddaughter Chesney Benge. Services were held March 29, 2011 at Hendryx Mortuary, Indianapolis with entombment will be at Washington Park East Cemetery, Indianapolis.
