David S. "Spud"Johnson, 71, of Whitney Street, Warren, passed away on Monday, March 21, 2011 at Select Specialty Hospital, Erie, Pa. following a lengthy illness. David was born September 20, 1939, in Warren, the son of the late Clarence and Marie Yaegle Johnson. Spud was a 1957 graduate of Warren High School and was the former owner of the Keystone Station at the corner of Pennsylvania Ave. and Water Street. He later owned and operated Dave Johnson Services of Clarendon, Pa. He was also employed for a brief time at Rexnord. He enjoyed bowling in the Riverside Leagues, golfing, hunting, sports, and was an avid hockey fan. He especially enjoyed his family and friends and having coffee on Tuesdays with his buddies. He is survived by his wife, Carol Slocum Johnson, whom he married on July 2, 1960; three daughters, Rhonda Humphrey and her husband LTC Robert, US Army, Wisconsin, Barbara Johnson, Long Island, NY, and Cindy Opferbeck and her husband Kevin, Ashville, NY; a son, Bill Johnson and his wife Cindy, GA; three sisters, Lola Kelsey and her husband Arthur, Clareen Glarner and her husband Kurt, both of Warren and Susan Sellans, AZ; two brothers, Howard Johnson and his wife Janet and Frank Johnson and his wife Vicki, both of Warren; a brother in law, Jack Holcomb; eight grandchildren, Christopher Ryberg, Ryan Johnson, Robbie Humphrey, Nathan Opferbeck, Joshua Opferbeck, Brittany Johnson, David Humphrey, and Connor Johnson; and a great-granddaughter Makennah Ryberg, and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a sister, Elizabeth Holcomb
