The first record I have of her is the 1850 census. It shows her as head of the family and daughters Ann and Melissa living with her. At various times during her life, she has daughters, son-in-laws and grandchildren living in her house. There is no indication of her husband living with her from 1850 through 1880. The 1880 census, the first census that mentions marital status, says she is a widow.
On January 11, 1886, Elizabeth who is 87 years old dies of old age and on January 17, 1886, she is buried in Palmer Ground in Philadelphia.
