Thomas Whiteside, who married Isabella Elizabeth Chitwood, was a son of Elizabeth (nee Stockton) and William Whiteside. His mother was a daughter of Davis Stockton (c.1685-1761) of Albemarle County, Virginia. Both Elizabeth and her father Davis appear to have been born in England. Thomas Whiteside was born near Batesville, Albemarle County, Virginia. His parents owned the property where Whiteside's Creek enters Mechum's River.


After the 1795 death of Thomas Whiteside, his widow Isabella Elizabeth (nee Chitwood) Whiteside, married John Bond. After John Bond died Isabella Elizabeth (nee Chitwood) Bond married Eusebius Hubbard. This marriage appears to have been on June 11, 1805.


Isabella Elizabeth died in St. Louis County, Missouri, on January 28, 1828.
