A visitation will be held on Saturday, March 26, 2011 beginning at 1:00 p.m. at George Boom Funeral Home in Sioux Falls, SD. Inurnment will follow at Hills of Rest Memorial Park in Sioux Falls at 2:00 PM on Saturday.
Joan Kay Schmit was born on October 24, 1945 at Austin, MN to Lawrence and Dorothy (Bisbee) Schmit. She spent her childhood in Austin and Rose Creek, MN, graduating with the class of 1964 from Rose Creek High School.
On March 19, 1994 she married Larry Rhine at Sioux Falls, SD. Joan and Larry moved to Delta in 1995 from Sioux Falls via Denver, CO for 1 year.
Joan and Larry were members of the Delta Elks Lodge #1235. She enjoyed spending time riding her horses, camping and traveling.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Lawrence and Dorothy Schmit.
