Grant A. "Papa" Stucki 1928 ~ 2010 Our beloved Grant A. Stucki passed away peacefully, surrounded by his loving family and friends, Sunday, January 10, 2010 from natural causes. Grant was born in Delta, Utah on October 2, 1928. At the unusual age of 18, Grant was called to serve an LDS mission to Denmark. He attended Brigham Young University and the University of Utah. He then went on to obtain a Doctorate of Dentistry from Northwestern University, Chicago, Illinois. There he met his sweetheart of 57 years, Sharon Reeta Turner. They were married in the Salt Lake LDS Temple on December 19, 1952. Grant is the father of six children. Grant served as a Captain in the US Air Force. He served in many church callings including three missions. At the age of 41 he was called to serve as the President of the Northwestern States-Oregon Mission, '69-'72. Later, upon his release, the family moved to southern California, where he continued his profession, and was fondly known by his patients as the "Whistling Dentist". Grant was a wonderful, devoted father, who was loved and adored by his children, grandchildren, great grandchildren, and all who knew him. He was a gentle-giant of a man. He gave selfless service throughout his whole life. His family, missionary work, and the scriptures were his passion. He had an unwavering testimony of the Gospel of Jesus Christ. He lived what he believed and preached. He was a true American patriot, U.S. Constitution scholar, teacher and renowned public speaker. For the past few years Grant has spoken constantly of serving another mission to the Holy Land and bringing souls unto Christ. Our beloved father, husband, and brother now has been called to serve that holy mission.

Grant was preceded in death by his parents, Herman Stucki and Anna Nelson, brothers Virgil, Frank, Dan, and sister Glenna Peterson. He is survived by his wife Sharon, brother John, and his children, Sharee (Craig) Campbell, Grant T. (Wendy), Randall M. (Sonya), Candice (Bruce R.) Brittain, Turner and Taylor, 21 grandchildren, and 12 great-grandchildren. Services will be held Saturday, January 16, 2010 at the Alpine Stake Center, Alpine, Utah, 98 East Canyon Crest Rd. The viewing will be from 9:00-10:45 a.m.; funeral service 11:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers please make a donation to the LDS Mission Fund.
