Obituary published in THE MULBERRY REPORTER, on September 20, 1929:
Josiah Rothenberger was notified Wednesday of the death of Mrs. Thomas Weil, at the home of a daughter in Pasadena, Calif. The body was brought to Delphi for burial in the Masonic cemetery.
Thomas Weil, who was quite well known by some of the older people about here, died six or eight years ago. He had quite a successful career, and was held in high esteem by all who knew him. When a young boy he came from Pennsylvania with the Butz family. When he grew up he learned the carpenter's trade. He married the daughter of a German couple, whom, at the time, lived just east of Edna Mills, where they operated a brick yard.
Mr. and Mrs. Weil began their married life in Frankfort. After awhile they moved on one of Chris Rothenberger's farms, northwest of Mulberry. From there they went to a small place of their own near Radnor, in Carroll county. Late in his life Weil sold his Carroll county farm and bought 160 acres northeast of Frankfort, in which city he lived a short time, but he went from there to Delphi, where he died. His heirs sold the Clinton county farm just when prices began to break and they got $175 an acre for it.
The deceased woman is survived by four sons – Ed, Prescott, Ariz.; Theodore, in Texas; Charles and Harry, in Carroll county. The two daughters live in California.
