Elder Waters was one of the leading Primitive Baptist ministers in Georgia. Some of the churches he has served include: Upper Black Creek, Lake, Brooklet, Jesup, Screven and Claxton. He became inactive about a year ago because of ill health. He was a veteran of World War I and was the son of the late Walburg and Ida Griner Waters, pioneer citizens of Bulloch County.
Survivors are his widow, Mrs. Ruby E. Waters; a daughter, Mrs. James Aldred, Statesboro; a sister, Mrs. C. A. Burkhalter, Tampa, Fla., and two grandchildren.
Honorary pallbearers were Primitive Baptist ministers. The body was taken to the church an hour before time for the services. Smith-Tillman Mortuary was in charge of arrangements.
