Raymond Uharriet, 79, beloved husband, brother, father and grandfather, passed away on March 22, 2011, at McKay Dee Hospital in Ogden, Utah of pneumonia. He was born in Culver City, California, on August 12, 1931, the second son of John and Maire Bazabal Uharriet. His brother is John Martin (June) Uharriet. He also has a half-sister, Cecile Marie Amestoy (Richard) Kruse and a half-brother, Etienne Amestoy. He attended Culver City, California schools and received two degrees at Utah State University where he earned a BS and an MS in electrical engineering. He was a veteran of the Korean War serving in the US Navy. He married Iris Rose Leonard and they had two children, Raymond Mitchell (deceased) and Annette Margaret. They later divorced. He joined The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints on February 28, 1958 where he was a faithful and active member. He married Marilyn Bartschi in Los Angeles, California, in 1959 and they were later sealed in marriage in the Logan LDS Temple. They had four children whom he loved very much. Bart Raymond (Sarah), James Robert, John Russel (Pamela) and Jennifer Uharriet. His beloved grandchildren are Jacqueline Shea Uharriet, John Luke Uharriet, Emily Claire Uharriet, John Thomas Uharriet and Sara Nicole Uharriet. He suffered many years with several illnesses, including a rare cancer, with very little complaining and his usual sense of humor. Funeral services will be held Monday, March 28, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. at the Hooper First Ward, 5601 South 6100 West, Hooper. A viewing for family and friends on Sunday at Myers Roy Mortuary, 5865 South 1900 West from 6 to 8 p.m. and Monday at the church from 10:00 to 10:45 a.m. prior to services. Interment, Hooper City Cemetery.
