Surviving is his wife, Elizabeth Buhler Applegate; his son, Hessel T. Applegate, Bradley Beach; a daughter, Mrs. Hannah F. Bresnahan, Freehold; a brother, Walter Applegate, Asbury Park; and a sister, Mrs. Helen Cory, Wanamassa and six grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren.
The Robert Neary funeral Home, Manasquan, is in charge of the arrangements.
