An Old Resident of East Rush.
East Rush, Dec. 27. — Hallaway A. Sherman, one of the oldest residents of Rush, died at midnight last night. He was born in Pawling, Duchess county, November 27, 1817, and came to Rush in 1837, since which time he had made his home here. He leaves four children, Mrs. Warren Rotzer and Mrs. Mary Dailey, of Lima, Miss Addie and Henry A. Sherman, of East Rush; he also leaves two brothers, Joseph H. and James H. Sherman, of Rush.

Honeoye Falls Pair Mark 60 Anniversary.
Sixty years of wedded life were celebrated quietly Sunday by Mr. and Mrs. Warren. R. Rotzel in their home at Honeoye Falls.
They were married In the home of the bride's parents, Mr. and Mrs. Holloway Sherman, in the village of Rush on February 2, 1881. After a wedding trip to Washington the couple returned to take up farming on his father's farm in West Rush where they remained for twenty years. He represents the third generation to own the farm which was originally purchased by his grandfather, Jonas Rotzel in 1833.
In 1903 they moved to the village of Lima, where their daughter Miss Grace Rotzel, now principal of the Moylan School in Pennsylvania entered Lima Seminary from which Mrs. Rotzel had been graduated in the class of 1875. In 1909 they purchased their present home in Honeoye Falls.
For a 50-year period Rotzel was a firm member of the Prohibition Party. Of late years he has voted the Republican ticket, although his father and grandfather were Democrats.
Mr. and Mrs. Rotzel are both 85 years of age. They have two sons, Clare L. Rotzel, member of the faculty of the University of Minnesota and Harold A. Rotzel of West Medway, Mass., manager of the Northeast New England Poultry Association, and a daughter Miss Grace Rotzel. They have two grandsons, both married.
