Arlene Tuggle, 92, passed away at John Knox Village in Higginsville MO on March 21 2011. She was born to W.F. and May Campbell of Ridgeway MO on December 9 1918. Arlene attended school at Ridgeway, graduating in 1936. She was an undergraduate at Northwest Missouri State University in Maryville and graduated with a double major in 1941, summa cum laude. Arlene applied once for a teaching position, in Gilman City. She taught there two years. Many other districts approached her to teach at their schools. She taught at Ridgeway, Cainsville and North Harrison. Arlene finished her 30-year career in 1977.

On May 23 1942, she married Lawrence Tuggle who was serving in the military. After the war, Arlene and Lawrence lived on their farm and raised two children. Upon retirement, Arlene and Lawrence moved to Mission TX. Some of the things they enjoyed were cards, golf and visits from friends and family. They were blessed with 61 years of marriage.

Arlene was proceeded in death by her parents, sister Berniece Mitchell, brother Joe Campbell and granddaughter Alicia Ross.

Survivors: daughter Sue (Jim) Ross; son Phil (Carole) Tuggle; grandchildren: David Ross, Allison (Reid) Tuggle-Magner, and Kevin Tuggle (fiance Kelyn Swartz); great-grandchildren Avie and Kaden Magner.

Services 2pm Saturday, March 26 2011 at Ridgeway Methodist Church. Family will receive friends one hour prior to service. The family suggests donations to Ridgeway Cemetery.
