MAMIE J. PEIFFER
Mrs. Mamie Peiffer of Belgium passed away at Belgium Gardens on Saturday evening, October 25, 2014. She was 93 years old. Mamie was born in the Town of Cedarburg on August 20, 1921, daughter of Emil and Ida Jost Abel. On August 8, 1953 Mamie was united in marriage with Roman "Curley" Peiffer at St. Francis Borgia Catholic Church in Cedarburg. The couple settled in Belgium, operating Curley's Tavern for many years. Curley preceded her in death in 1987. Mrs. Peiffer was a member of Divine Savior Parish. She enjoyed bowling and gardening -usually tending to a large raspberry patch- and loved to cook as well. Mamie was an avid Green Bay Packers fan and an enthusiastic Milwaukee Brewers fan. Mrs. Peiffer also loved spending time with her grandchildren.
She is survived by two sons: John "Jack" (Kathy) Peiffer and William (Tammy) Peiffer, both of Belgium, 6 grandsons: Kevin, Kyle, Sean, Tanner, Dalton and Grayson, 10 great-grandchildren: Zachary, Dakota, Dawson, Jacob, Samuel, Matthew, Jack, Beau, Karli and Bryce. She is further survived by sister-in-law Evelyn Goedde of Port Washington, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Mrs. Peiffer is preceded in death by her husband Curley, 2 sisters: Dorothy Schubert and Gertrude Lemke, and 2 granddaughters: Rylee and Landon Peiffer. A Mass of Christian Burial will take place at 6PM on Thursday, October 30th at Divine Savior, Holy Cross Chapel (5332 Hwy B, Town of Belgium). Father Todd Budde will preside. Mamie will be laid to rest beside her husband the following day at St. Mary Parish Cemetery, Lake Church. The family will receive visitors at CHURCH on Thursday from 3:30pm until services at 6PM. If desired, memorials to the Alzheimer's Association are suggested.
