Dorothy was born August 6, 1919, in Cedarburg, the daughter of Emil and Ida Jost Abel. On October 11, 1941, she was united in marriage with Harry Schubert, at St. Francis Borgia Rectory South. He preceded her in death in 1996.
The couple resided in Cedarburg and Dorothy was employed at Kieckhaefer's Mercury Marine for 37 years. Dorothy was a member of St. Francis Borgia Catholic Church in Cedarburg.
She enjoyed dancing, birds, bowling, and playing cards, and taking care of her gardens and flowers.
Dorothy is survived by her sister, Mamie Peiffer of Cedarburg, nieces and nephews; Jack (Kathy) Peiffer of Belgium, Bill (Tammy)Peiffer of Belgium, Pam (John)Wall of Mequon, Chris (Jerry) Bettridge Mequon, Patty (Willie) Harris of Cedarburg and Scott (Lisa) Lemke of Cedarburg, great-nieces and nephews, other relatives and friends.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Harry, sister, Gerty Lemke, and brothers-in-law, Russ Lemke and Curly Peiffer.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 3 p.m. on Tuesday, March 22, at St. Francis Borgia North, 1375 Covered Bridge Road, Cedarburg. She will be laid to rest at Zuh Ruhe Cemetery in Cedarburg.
The family will receive visitors on Monday, March 21, from 4:30- 7 p.m. at Eernisse Funeral Home, 1167 Washington Avenue, in Cedarburg and again on Tuesday, March 22, from 2:30-3 p.m. at St. Francis Borgia North.
In lieu of flowers, memorial suggested to the St. Francis School Building Fund.
