Born in Grossgartach, Duchy of Wurttenburg (Germany since 1850) He died in Lynn, Northampton Co., Pennsylvania'

Son of Johann Andres straub 1675-

In the summer of 1733 he and his wife Anna took their 6 children and boarded the "Pennsylvania Merchant" to go to America. On 18 Sept 1833, they landed and went to the court house in Philidephia to pledge their allegence to the British Crown. That was required by law. They had an additional 4 children in Pennsylvania.

THE FAMILY IS RECORDED IN THE PAPERS OF REVERAND DANIEL SCHUMACHER WHO WAS A FAMOUS TRAVLING MINISTER OF GOD. IT MUST BE NOTED HERE THAT SOME OF THE FAMILY CHANGED THEIR NAME'S SPELLING TO STROUP WHICH WAS THE WAY IT SOUNDED.

THE STRAUB FAMILY STILL HAS DECENDENTS ON THE ORIGINAL FAMILY FARM ESTABLISHED BY JOHANN AND ANNA (HOFFMAN) STRAUB. THERE A PHOTO'S OF IT AVAILABLE.
