"MARY JO WHITE DIES AUGUST 20 OF BRIEF ILLNESS
Miss Mary Joe White, 40, died at 12:15 a.m. Wednesday, August 20, at her home, 301 Ennis Street, after an illness of only one day.

"She had worked for Royal Park Fashions of Childress four years, commuting each day.

"Miss White was born at Paris March 31, 1935, and had lived here 26 years. She was a member of the Church of God in Christ.

"Funeral service were held Saturday, August 23, at 2:30 p.m. at the Church of God in Christ with Elder A.T. Anderson officiating. Burial was in Fairview Cemetery under the direction of Kelso Funeral Home.

"Pallbearers were Jimmy Thomas, Joe Chambers, Harvey Washington, James Chambers, Junior Walker, Tommy Davis and Edward Johnson.

"Survivors are her mother, Mrs. Laura White; three brothers, James Ivery White of Paris, John Robert White of Phoenix, Arizona, and Wayne Edward White of Albuquerque, New Mexico; five sisters, Mrs. Thelma Ruth McCann; Ruby Cile White and Mrs. Maggie Brown of Wellington, Mrs. Geneva Wallace of Paris, and Mrs. Anita Louise Benson of Amarillo."
