Charlie Bartels, Cecil Pioneer, Dies Monday.

Charlie Bartels, pioneer Cecil resident and businessman, died at Shawano Monday at the age of 82. Mr. Bartels was a life-long resident of Cecil and for many years operated a garage and bike shop in the Shawano county village. He was born Sept. 23, 1878 in the town of Underhill and was married to Margaretha Hartman on April 23, 1903. She died in 1958. The following sons and daughters survive: Olga, Mrs. Henry Radtke of Appleton, Roland of Shawano, Elda, Mrs. Fred Muck of Angelica, Irma Bartels of Los Angeles, Marvin of Manitowoc and Ione, Mrs. Earl Collins of Milwaukee. Also surviving are 12 grandchildren; 3 greatgrandchildren; and 2 sisters, Mrs. Tena Sweede of Marinette and Mrs. Julius Marohl of Cecil. Funeral services will be held at the Hope Luth. church at Cecil at 2 p.m. Thursday. Burial will be in the Lakeview Cemetery in Cecil.
