In loving memory of James Galloway, my great great grandfather, who was born 17 Apr 1833 in the parish of Barony, in Glasgow, Scotland. He was the son of James Galloway (believed to be from Seaforde, Northern Ireland); his mother's name is unknown). On 5 May 1854, in Old Monkland Parish East of Glasgow, he married Catherine McFaden McPhail, who was born 30 Jan 1835 near the village of Busby in Renfrewshire, Scotland. James lived and worked a hard life in the coal mines for about 40 years before arriving in America with wife Catherine at the port of Philadelphia on 14 June 1890 with their youngest 3 of their 13 children (John, David, and Duncan). He was a farmer in nearby Carson Township. Catherine died 31 Dec 1915 in Driscoll, Burleigh County, North Dakota...
