Chester County Local, Sept 9,12, 1885.

"Mrs. Margaret Lockart Pinkerton, wife of Samuel Pinkerton, died at her home in Coatesville on Monday, September 7, in the 78th year of her age. Deceased had been an invalid for years. She was the mother of John J. Pinkerton, Esq., of West Chester, S. Stanhope Pinkerton, of Pittsburg, and Miss Belle Pinkerton, of Coatesville. Her husband survives her."

"The funeral took place from her late residence in Coatesville on Wednesday. Rev. J. C. Roberts, of Darby, Delaware County preached the funeral sermon. Interment was made at Brandywine Manor."

DUST TO DUST- The funeral of Mrs. Margaret L. Pinkerton, mother of John J. Pinkerton, Esq., of West Chester, took place from her late residence in Coatesville on Wednesday. Rev. J. C. Roberts, of Darby, Delaware county, preached the funeral sermon. The floowoing officated as pall-bearers: Senator, A.D. Harlan, John Gilfillan, Carpenter Worth, James Henry, I.D. Landis and Mr. Young. Interment was made at Brandywine Manor.
