Funeral Services were held on December 26, 1937 at Old Yellow Creek Baptist Church with Rev Sam Browning and Rev Eint Bolton.

Pall Bearers were Lester Fleenor, John Sing, Doyle Byrd, Tom F. McGraw, Joe Standifer, and Frank Fallon.

**Silas was shot to death by his son Onva. It was in self defense.
