OBITUARY. Wilson M. SHIPLER was born Oct. 8, 1859, in Des Moines Township and died at his home in the same township Feb. 20, 1904. His life was spent here excepting a few years he resided in Ottumwa. Married Laura POTTS Jan. 4, 1888.
Eight children, four daughters and four sons, the eldest a daughter of 16 years.... M.E. Church. He leaves a wife, eight children, father, mother, two brothers and eight sisters. Rev. C. Springer conducted the funeral exercises and his remains were laid to rest in the Brethren Cemetery.
(Note: For some nearly 30 years now [as of 1972], the remains of Wilson M. SHIPLER have been interred in Memorial Lawn Cemetery, Ottumwa.)
