SHIPLER RITES HELD YESTERDAY. Funeral services for Miss Delilah Shipler were held yesterday afternoon at the First Methodist Church in charge of Dr. U. S. Smith. Interment was at the Brethren Cemetery near Libertyville. Misses Mary A. STEVER and Marie SCOTT sang "In The Sweet Bye and Bye" and "Beautiful Isle of Somewhere," to an organ accompaniment played by Mrs. Frank PIERSON. The following nephews of Miss SHIPLER acted as pall bearers: Kenneth, Warren and Samuel BARBER, Ira MARIES, Harold and Everett LINDBOM. Those from out of the city here to attend the funeral were Mrs. W. W. JAMES of Clarion; Mrs. J. E. LONG, Mrs. F. E. FISHEL, Mrs. Carl WALKER of Batavia; Mr. and Mrs. D. E. MARIES of Beckwith; Mrs. Laura SHIPLER of Ottumwa.

OBITUARY. Mary Delilah SHIPLER was born on August 1, 1861, and passed away Jan. 22, 1928, at the home of her sister, Mrs. Oscar LINDBOM, 708 South Third Street, at the age of 66 years, 4 months, and 21 days. She was the eldest daughter of Samuel and Sarah SHIPLER and leaves to mourn her departure six sisters: Mrs. J. E. LONG of near Batavia, Mrs. F. E. FISHEL of Batavia, Mrs. J. D. BARBER of near Fairfield, Mrs. D. E. MARIES of Beckwith, Mrs. W. W. JAMES of Clarion, Mrs. O. F. LINDBOM of Fairfield, with whom she has made her home since the death of her parents…..Lila, as we all called her, was of a kind and loving disposition, always happiest when she could do some loving deed of kindness for others.
