Clyde F. Uhlman, 81, passed away July 6, 1996, at the South Shore Regional Hospital,after a valiant struggle with illness. Born at Chelsea, January 30, 1915 to the late Matilda Turner Uhlman and Nathaniel Uhlman, he lived in Chelsea all his life. He was a farmer, woodsman, teamster, and carpenter's helper, working with Laurie Wile & Sons, Buckfield; Merril Wile, Bridgewater; Bowater Mersey, Liverpool, Nauss Brothers, Bridgewater, and Freeman & Sons, Greenfield.
Surviving are his wife, Jean (Boland); son, Brian, Chelsea; five daughters, Madeline (Mrs. Mervin Henley), Chelsea; Linda (Mrs. James Boland), Bangs Falls; Brenda (Mrs. Randall Knox), Baker Settlement; Valerie (Mrs. Graham Meisner), West Clifford; and Kerry, at home; a sister, Vera, Wharton, N.J.; brother, Ralph, Chelsea; 12 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; several nieces, nephews, and his many friends. He was predeceased by sisters, Ethel and Myrtle; a baby brother; and baby grandson, Clifford Lee.
The body rested at Sweeny's Funeral Home, Bridgewater. Funeral service was held at Chelsea United Baptist Church, July 10, 1996, Rev. John Kaulback officiating. Burial in Maple Grove Cemetery.
