Obituary states services were held on Sunday afternoon, May 23, 1965 at the First Baptist Church in Southwest City; Rev. Harry Bennett officiating. Pallbearers were O.D. Brown, Frank Buchanan, James Buchannan, Ralph Franklin, Cleve Miller and LeRoy Horton. Arrangements were under direction of the Downey-Woodard-Mooney Funeral Home. Mrs. Shields died at Cardwell Memorial Hospital in Stella, where she had been a patient since April 20.
