Longtime resident of Portsmouth, Ohio, relocating to Columbus following the 1937 flood to reside with son Albert & family the last ten years of her life. Born to German immigrants, Martin & Kunigunda (Scholl) Nagel. Widow of George Balmert, marrying in 1892, widowed in 1896. Four children/son Albert survived. Three grandchildren. Never remarried. Best remembered as a widowed homemaker, deeply religious, always wearing long starched dresses with a clean white apron & spending a lot of time in her bedroom praying on her sleeping porch. Died, 87, of arteriosclerosis & senility per death certificate.
