LILLIAN HIGGINS 73 NURSING SUPERVISOR

HAMILTON-Lillian A. (McLaughlin) Higgins, 73, of 12 Hatfield Road, wife of Raymond P. Higgins, died Thursday following a brief illness.
Born in Dyer Brook, Maine, daughter of the late Carl and May (Gerrish) McLaughlin, she lived in Dyer Brook for many years and in Hamilton for the past 41 years.
She was a registered nurse at Beverly Hospital and was a supervisor for the delivery room until her retirement.
Mrs. Higgins graduated from Maine General Hospital School of Nursing in Portland, Maine, and was a member of A.P. Gardiner Post No. 194, American Legion Women's Auxiliary.
Surviving her, in addition to her husband, are one son, Barry C. Higgins of Ridgway, Pa.; three daughters, Sandra G. Wyman of Kittery, Maine, Bonnie J. Maskery of Bristol, Conn., and Linda L. Smith of Farmers Branch, Texas; one brother, Aubrey McLaughlin of Houlton, Maine; three sisters, Beryl Stevens of Danvers, Margaret Dunn of Merrimac and Nadine Bradley of Haverhill; 12 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and several neices and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at First United Methodist Church, 391 Bay Road, Hamilton, Saturday at noon. Visiting hours at the Campbell Funeral Home, 525 Cabot St., Beverly, are today from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Burial will be in Dyer Brook Cemetery, Dyer Brook, Maine, Monday at 1 p.m.

Lillian, the eldest child of Carl Enoch and May Viola (Gerrish) McLaughlin, was the wonderful, loving and caring wife of Raymond Philip Higgins for 54 years. Together, they had four children: Sandra Goldie, Barry Clyde, Bonita Jeanne and Linda Louise Higgins. She was also a wonderful grandmother and aunt to scores of grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. She was extremely passionate about her nursing career which spanned decades. She was also a very gifted craftswoman and gardener. She and her husband helped set the wonderful groundwork for their children and their families.
