FUNERAL FOR MRS. AMMONS HELD SUNDAY AT LOVEDALE
Funeral services were held Sunday afternoon, January 30th at 2 o’clock at the Lovedale Baptist church for Mrs. Clara Lou Ammons, 21, who died in the C.J. Harris Hospital Friday, January 28, 1949 following a brief illness. Burial was in the church cemetery. The Rev. Ernest Jamison and Rev. Joe Bishop officiated.
Pallbearers were: Lee Dillard, Morgan Dillard, Bill Frady, Wallace and Gene Coward, and Clyde Queen. The intermediate girls of the East Sylva Baptist church were in charge of the flowers.
Surviving are the husband, the parents, Mr. and Mrs. Burton Styles of Sylva; five sisters, Mrs. Etta Rawson of Asheville, Mrs. Ethel Morgan of Sylva, Mrs. Stella Deever of California, Mrs. Mittie Neal of Portsmouth, Virginia, and Mrs. Effie Hyatt of Sylva; two brothers, Dewey of Asheville, and Bill of Salem, New Jersey.
Moody Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.
