BOUNTIFUL--Melvin Grant Nelson, age 71, passed away April 20, 1997 at his home in Bountiful.

He was born July 17, 1925 in Tucson, Arizona to Hyrum Vance and Chloe Amelia Palmer Nelson. He married Audrey Helquist, May 18, 1952 in Blanding, Utah. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Mesa Arizona LDS Temple. He was a Veteran of World War II. An active member of the LDS Church and worked in the Salt Lake Temple. He loved hunting, fishing, and serving his fellow man. He was a gentle man and was loved by all.

Survived by his wife, Audrey; children, Steven and Lissette Nelson, Farmington; Eric Nelson, Bountiful; Annette and Dale Hamblin, Biggs, California; four grandsons; brothers and sisters, Myrtle Perkins, Blanding; Vance and Joy Nelson, St. George; Ardeth and Carlos Taylor, Las Vegas, Nevada; Ida and Mack Tenney, Page, Arizona; Rey and Aurelia Nelson, Mesa, Arizona; Rilla and Harold Miller, Mesa, Arizona; Norman and George Remily, Fresno, California; Marion and Eylene Nelson, Vail, Arizona; Millie and Maurice Jones, Holbrook, Arizona; Robert and Barbara Nelson, Tucson, Arizona; Jay and Mary Nelson, Blanding, Utah; Donavon and Leslee Nelson, St. David, Arizona.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m., Thursday, April 24, 1997 at the Bountiful South Stake Center Chapel, 1250 South Main. Friends may call Wednesday evening from 68 p.m. at the Russon Brothers Bountiful Mortuary, 295 North Main and again Thursday morning from 9:4510:45 a.m. at the church. Graveside services will be held Friday, April 25, 1997 at 11 a.m. at the Blanding City Cemetery with a viewing one hour prior to services at the North Ward Chapel, 255 East 200 North, Blanding.
