Pocahantas, Iowa -- A 38 year old Spencer man was killed instantly and three other persons were injured today in a two-car head-on collision near Pocahontas.
The victim was identified as Clyde Barton who was the driver of one of the cars.
Barton was passing a semi-trailer when the two cars met head-on six and one half miles east of Pocohontas near the junctions of highways 3 and 17. This mishap occurred on highway 3.
Barton was travelling west at the time of the accident. His wife received facial injuries and was also listed in serious condition. The Barton's five year old son was not injured.
