Hattie Belle Bitter, passed away January 1, 1992 at the Four Corners Care Center in Blanding, Utah.

She was born October 9, 1911, to Minnie Belle Chapman and Morley Spencer Black. Married Robert Brown, February 14, 1936 in the Salt Lake Temple. They were the parents of one son, Mervyn. Both preceded her in death. Married Joseph E. Bitter, January 14, 1948. He also preceded her in death. She was an active member of the LDS Church. Filled an LDS Stake Mission on Temple Square in 1947, where she met Joseph and filled a full time mission with him to Texas in 1962-64.

Survived by five step children, J. Melvin Bitter, Kaysville; Mrs. George (Maxine) Rytting, Layton; Grant B. Bitter, Mrs. Vern (Ruth) Wayman, Mrs. Calvin (Patricia) Birch, all Salt Lake; 41 grandchildren, 171 great-grandchildren, 13 great-great-grandchildren, brothers, Ralph Lancaster, and Marion Lancaster, sisters in law, Verda Black and Ellen Brown, brothers in law, Ilo M. Brown, and Woodrow J. Brown, and numerous nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held January 4, 1992. Interment, Blanding City Cemetery.
