Ralph W. Lancaster
November 1, 1923 - March 3, 2016

Ralph W. Lancaster (92) died peacefully at his Snowflake home on March 3, 2016.

He was born November 1, 1923 in Bluewater, New Mexico to George and Minnie Belle Chapman Lancaster.

Dad is preceded in death by his eternal companion of 58 years, Venola. He is survived by Dennis (Lynne), Joan (Ron) Dodson and Jean (David) Butler, ten grandchildren and twenty three great-grandchildren.

As transportation supervisor and bus driver for the Snowflake School District for thirty five years, Dad is well-known and often recognized by former student passengers wherever he goes. He loved to drive the sports and activities buses statewide and drove a bus to Show Low daily. Many a bus rider has stories of being thrown off the bus by Ralph to find their own way to school or home. Dad is an avid BYU Cougars sports fan. He was also an expert mechanic. Many people have been blessed by his willingness to serve others through his mechanical skills.

Dad has been an active and dedicated member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints all his life. He served several stake missions as a Seventy. Dad and Mom served two honorable missions to Nauvoo where Dad made keepsake Nauvoo bricks. A highlight of Dad's life was a trip to the Holy Land with Mom. He has been a faithful ward clerk, financial clerk and membership clerk to eight Bishops.

Our Father is highly respected as a man of honor and great integrity. His word was his bond. Reliability and dependability are synonymous with his name. His family are the most important thing and pride of his life. He taught us by precept and example. We bless and honor this good man.

A viewing will be held on Friday, March 11, 2016, at Owens Livingston Mortuary, 84 E. 19 S., in Snowflake, from 6:00-8:00 P.M. A funeral service will be held at 2:00 pm on Saturday, March 12, 2016 at the Stake Center of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter day Saints, 9th S. 2nd West, in Snowflake, with a viewing 1 hour prior.

Burial will follow at the R.V. "Mike" Ramsay Memorial Cemetery in Snowflake.

The family wish to express sincere appreciation to Hospice Compassus for their thankless service to our Father.
