RESIDENT OF AREA 42 YEARS TAKEN BY DEATH THURS
I. G. Whiting, for the last 42 years a resident of Brainerd, died in the Northern Pacific hospital in St. Paul last night. He had been ill nearly three weeks with death being attributed to a stroke. He had been in the Northern Pacific hospital about a week.
Whiting was a former employee of the the Northern Pacific railroad being retired on a pension. He lived on North Long Lake.
Born in Augusta, Wisconsin December 19, 1869, the deceased was 64 years old.
His widow preceded him in death. Two sons, Ed Whiting, Brainerd and Ira Whiting of Yuma, Ariz. and one daughter, Mrs. Esther Berven of Tacoma, and four granchildren.
Funeral services will be held Saturday afternoon at 2 o'clock in the Hoenig Funeral Chapel. The Rev. A. G. Patterson, pastor of the Presbyterian Church, will officiate. Interment in Evergreen Cemetery.
