Jacob Brian Evjen 20, of Mt. Iron, and Silver Bay, died unexpectedly, Tuesday March 15, 2011 at his home.

He was born March 14, 1991 to Brian and Julie(Hayes)Evjen in Buffalo, Minnesota. Jake grew up in Silver Bay, and played hockey and football at William Kelley High School, where he graduated from in 2009. He enlisted in the Marines and received and honorable discharge after three months of service. Jake was currently a student at Mesabi Range Community and Technical College, where he was studying to become a millwright. He was a member of the Sychar Lutheran Church Youth Group and enjoyed hunting and fishing.

Jake is preceded in death by his father, Brian, and cousin, Lindsey Morrison.

He is survived by his grandparents, Clifford and Betty Evjen of Silver Bay, mother, Julie (Andrew) Ross of Monticello, MN; step-mother, Robin (Kyle) Weideman of Two Harbors; maternal grandparents, Carol and Joe Miller; uncles, Kenneth (Kim) of Sartell, MN, and Dennis (Kris) of Buffalo, MN; aunt, Terry (Ed) Morrison of Hazen, North Dakota;half brother, Josh Evjen of Ham Lake, MN; and many cousins.

Visitation will be from 10 AM until the 11 AM Service Saturday, March 19, 2011 at Sychar Lutheran Church in Silver Bay. Burial will be in Sawtooth Mt. Cemetery at a later date.
