Manuel Chappa, 64, of Mereta, passed away quietly on Friday, Feb. 25, 2011, surrounded by his family.
Mr. Chappa was born in Mereta, Texas on November 4, 1946 to Agapito and Elena Chappa. He lived in Mereta most of his life and worked for the city of San Angelo driving tractors for 27 years.
He is survived by his father, Agapito Chappa Sr.; seven sisters, Raffy Chappa, Becky Cuellar, Mary Chappa, Nancy Cuellar, Alice Rodriguez, Rosa Flores, and Julie Hernandez; two brothers, Frank Chappa Sr. and Agapito Chappa Jr. He is preceded in death by his mother, Elena Chappa.
A Rosary will be held at Gutierrez Funeral Chapels/North on Sunday at 7 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be on Monday at 10 a.m. in Mereta, Tx. Interment will follow in the Eola-Mereta Cemetery.
