Swainsboro - Mrs. Almarita Booth Johnston, 83, died Saturday at Northside Hospital in Atlanta after a short illness. The Bulloch County native was graduated from Swainsboro High School and Wesleyan College. She was a homemaker and had worked as a legal secretary. She was a member of First United Methodist Church and Swainsboro Garden Club for 50 years and a member of Ida Belle Williams Book Club.
Surviving are her daughter, Mrs. Rita Pryor of Fitzgerald; her son, Gibson Johnston Jr. of Atlanta; six grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
Funeral: 3 p.m. today in Hunnicutt Funeral Home Chapel, burial in Eastside Cemetery.
