Mr. Jerold P. Allen, 88, of Madisonville, Ky died at 2:30 P.M. Saturday, December 17, 2005 at the NHC Healthcare in Madisonville.

Born September 23, 1917, in Hopkins County, KY, he was the son of the late Clarence Vernon Allen and Nell Dixie Fugate Allen. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Emily Eugenia Igleheart Allen on April 18, 2000.

He was a retired coal miner and a member of the United Mine Workers Association.

Mr. Allen is survived by two step-sons, James Stevens of Arkansas and Tom Stevens of Madisonville; a sister, Helen F. Brown of Madisonville; three step-grandchildren; sixteen step-great grandchildren; three nephews, Bobby A. Brown, Joe P. Brown, and Terry G. Brown; and a niece, Rita J. Brown.

Funeral services will be Thursday, December 22, 2005, at 11:00 A.M., at the Barnett-Strother Funeral Home with Bro. Roy Finley officiating. Burial will follow in Grapevine Cemetery.

Visitation will be on Wednesday, December 21, 2005, from 4:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M., and from 10:00 A.M. until the service time on Thursday at the funeral home.
