She was born June 4, 1917 to James Albert and Sara Jane Kinder Brooks. She was the fourth of eight children and the last living sibling. She was born in Lehi and spent many years there before moving to American Fork. She was a loving and devoted wife and mother. She was known in the community because of her many years working at Sprouse Reitz. She had a fondness for all of the many friends she made there.
She married Thomas Engle Lloyd on April 20, 1936. Together, they had four children, Raymond (DeAnna) Lloyd, Ronald (Rita) Lloyd, Susan (Mark) Memmott, and Rick Lloyd, she also had eighteen grandchildren, thirty-seven great grandchildren, and nine great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas, parents, siblings, and a grandson, Thomas June Lloyd.
During her last several years, she spent time at the Charleston at Cedar Hills Assisted Living Center, where she also made many good friends that will greatly miss her. Throughout her life, Grandma made many holiday traditions for our family. She had a quick wit and people always enjoyed a visit with her.
Funeral Services for Hazel will be held on Wednesday, March 16, 2011 at 12:00 p.m. in the Warenski Funeral Home Chapel, 1776 North 900 East, American Fork, Utah. Family and friends may call on Wednesday morning from 11:00 to 11:45 a.m. prior to the services.
Interment will be in the American Fork City Cemetery.
