OBITUARY, The Anthon Herald, 27 November 1974, page 1: Lloyd E. Huffman, 50, of Washta, died November 20, 1974, at the Veterans Hospital in Minneapolis after a five-month illness. Funeral services were held Friday, November 22, at the Boothby Funeral Home in Cherokee with Rev. Henry Friedrich officiating. Burial was in Sunset View Cemetery, Washta. Mr. Huffman was born January 22, 1924, at Anthon. He married Lela Small on February 17, 1943, at South Sioux City, Nebraska. He had lived in Washta for the last 20 years and was employed by Mauer Construction Company. He was a veteran of World War II and a member of the Disabled American Veterans. Survivors include the widow; two daughters, Mrs. Marvin (Judy) Stieneke of Washta, and Mrs. Willis (Joyce) Allbaugh of Quimby; nine grandchildren; a brother, Marvin of Mankato, Minnesota; and one sister, Mrs. Cecil Jerman of Pierson.
