Sioux Valley News, 30 August 2000, page 4: Cecile E. Neifert, 88, of Oto, died Wednesday, August 16, 2000, at South Sioux City, Nebraska. Graveside services were held on Saturday, August 19, at the Fairfield Cemetery, Rock Branch, rural Correctionville with Pastor Mike Inman officiating. Burial was under direction of Armstrong Funeral Service. Cecile Edna Neifert was born August 10, 1912, in Oto, the daughter of Arthur L. and Azella (Dicks) Huffman. She was raised in Cherokee and Anthon. On December 16, 1930, Cecile married George Jerman. He died in October of 1974. She married Rullen "Pude" Neifert October 3, 1975. He died October 19, 1996. Cecile enjoyed fishing, camping and quilting. Survivors include two daughters and their husbands, Lorna and Richard Jones of South Sioux City, Nebraska, and Georgian and Scott Hammond of Rogers, Arkansas; two sons, Duane Jerman of Pierson and Gerald Jerman and his wife Sheila of Ames; one sister-in-law, Lila Huffman of Washta; thirteen grandchildren, twenty-four great grandchildren and one great great grandchild. She was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers, Marvin and Lloyd; a daughter-in-law, Eleanore Jerman and three great grandchildren.
