Jackson Begley was the Son of Russell Begley and Elizabeth Roberts. Jackson married Elizabeth Bowman, daughter of Elisha W. Bowman also a Civil War Veteran and Mary Mahula Phillips in 1867 in Owsley County. They had four children. Their Son Major Simpson Begley is named after his Uncle and Elizabeth's Brother.

Jackson is a Civil War Veteran serving with Company C 4th Ky. Infantry Regiment (GAR 1861-1865.

Although Elizabeth Bowman is my Maternal Grandfather of wife of step grandson of 2nd Great Aunt, Jackson is really my 1st cousin 2x removed of husband of 1st cousin 1x removed.
