My mother was an extraordinary woman. She had many incredible talents. She was a wonderful cook. She made the best homemade jellies: strawberry, raspberry, blackberry, elderberry and peach to name a few--most of those fruits grown and harvested by her, from her very own backyard. She could embroider and sew, making many lovely quilts through the years. Not to mention all the western shirts she made for my father, Bruce (her grandson she raised as her own) and I. She also created beautiful floral arrangements for quite a few weddings. She was gifted with a miraculous green thumb; her house always looked like a Botanical Garden. Every window space had thriving plants soaking up the sunshine. She was extremely fond of purple African violets.

She was strong and independent. After Dad died in 1985, she kept the towing business going. She surprised many a person with her petite, 5'2" frame climbing down out of the cab of the wrecker to hook up their vehicles. She once towed in a reporter for the St. Louis Post-Dispatch and he was so impressed by her, that he featured her in an article.

She had a great laugh, and a generous spirit, always thinking of ways to help others or make them feel special. She's loved and missed. Forever in our hearts.
